A Dr. Who Inspired Tea Blend
This rooibos almond tea blend is inspired by the iconic British television series ‘Dr. Who’.
The Warp Hotel on the planet Askenflatt Minor is known to have “the best cuppa in the known universe” according to the tenth doctor. We would have to agree, even though we aren’t completely sure how to get there. With this special Warp Hotel blend on the menu who can argue with the tenth doctor, he was played by David Tennant after all. We start with a Rooibos and then combine spices of clove, cardamom, and anise with almonds, cranberries, and oranges, giving it a lovely flavor reminiscent of a chai spiced almond cookie.
Rooibos (pronounced ‘roy-boss) means ‘red bush’ and does not come from the Camellia Sinensis plant, but instead it comes from a shrub that is native to South Africa. This herb dates back to the 1700’s but didn’t start being available commercially until the 1930’s. The rooibos bush is actually green, but because it is dried out under the African sun, the leaves change from green to a very deep mahogany color. Rooibos is naturally sweet, naturally caffeine-free, and low in tannins. It is also packed with calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, potassium, vitamin c and many others. It’s natural hydration and anti-inflammatory properties make it the go to beverage of choice when you are feeling dehydrated. Did you know that rooibos also acts as a bronchodilator and an antihistamine without the drowsy side effects?
Since trips to the Warp Hotel on Askenflatt Minor are probably out of your reach, we packaged up this namesake blend and it is now available for you to enjoy at home. You can thank us later!

Open the bag and in goes my nose. It just smells so delicious that I could breathe it in all day. The taste of almonds and clove and chai are just dreamy. If I didn’t want to try so many of Happy Turtle Teas I would have cabinets FULL of this one.

This was one of my first Happy Turtle teas and it was love at first taste and sniff. This tea has the most incredible smell as well as taste. I actually leave my tea infuser out after I finish my cup, just so I can keep smelling it. The blend of almond, orange and cranberry with the spices is so amazing that I never want to run out of this tea.

This was one of the first teas I bought from Happy Turtle. I love Dr. Who and I love this tea. I remember this episode and I remember how descriptive they got with the tea in the episode. The Warp Hotel and the signature tea there is well known to any Whovian, and when I found this page and they’re whole thing is “Drink your fandom!” Well too me this tea couldn’t have done it more and held up to that quote any better. I’m in love with the taste and I’m in love with the smell. To have a tea that’s synonymous with the show and have it taste accurately with how I would imagine it would taste to how they describe it Ik the show is everything to me. Definitely need to and will have this on me at all times because it truly is “the best cuppa tea in the known universe”

5 Stars because it is a very good tea. It definitely has a very distinct almond flavor. I’m a little sensitive to almond and don’t always love it, so this tea is not my favorite, but I wouldn’t turn it down if someone brought me a cup. So just a heads up if you don’t love almond flavor, you might be better off choosing another option, but if you DO love almond you will absolutely love this.

Such a lovely blend – it feels like a classic cup of tea and is great with a little milk added!
